At The Vyne Community School, we believe that some of the most important learning happens beyond the classroom.
Our co-curricular and enrichment programme is an essential part of the education we provide. It gives students opportunities to find their place to shine and discover new interests, develop their talents, build confidence, form friendships and experience success in ways that complement their academic learning.
We want every young person to leave The Vyne having experienced more, discovered more about themselves and developed the confidence to take opportunities when they arise.
This commitment sits at the heart of our DOVE value of Opportunity: encouraging every student to participate, aim high and make the most of the experiences available to them.

We offer a broad and varied programme of activities designed to appeal to different interests, talents and ambitions.
Students can participate in opportunities across areas including:
Our programme develops throughout the year, providing students with opportunities to try something new as well as to pursue existing interests and talents.
We encourage every student to get involved as participants and leaders.
Co-curricular experiences allow our students to put our DOVE values into practice.
Determination develops when students train, practise, rehearse, compete and persevere when something is difficult.
Opportunity means having the confidence to try something new, discovering talents and interests and taking advantage of experiences that can broaden horizons and raise aspirations.
Valour develops through leadership, teamwork, competition, performance and the courage to step outside our comfort zones.
Empathy grows when students work alongside others, contribute to their community, support their peers and learn to understand different experiences and perspectives.
These experiences help our students become increasingly confident, independent and resilient young people.
We know that young people's ambitions are shaped by what they experience and what they believe is possible.
That is why enrichment at The Vyne extends beyond regular clubs and activities. Through educational visits, visiting speakers, cultural experiences, universities, employers, careers activities and partnerships with organisations beyond the school, we aim to introduce students to people, places and possibilities they may not otherwise encounter.
We want our students to be curious about the world around them and ambitious about the place they can take within it.
We believe that opportunity should be available to every student.
We recognise that there can be practical, financial or personal barriers that make participation more difficult for some young people. We work actively to identify and reduce these barriers wherever possible so that a student's circumstances do not prevent them from experiencing the wider opportunities school can provide.
We encourage students and families to speak to us if there is something preventing a young person from participating. We would always rather explore how we can help than see a student miss an opportunity.
The Vyne is particularly proud of our Combined Cadet Force (CCF), which provides students with distinctive opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork, resilience, self-discipline and confidence.
Through training, camps, adventurous activities and leadership responsibilities, cadets learn to challenge themselves, support one another and take increasing responsibility.
The CCF brings our DOVE values to life: Determination when challenges are demanding, providing extraordinary Opportunities, developing the Valour to lead and take responsibility, and building the Empathy needed to work successfully as part of a team.
We want every student to find something at The Vyne that excites, challenges or inspires them.
Students are encouraged to explore the opportunities available, try activities they have never experienced before and become increasingly involved in the wider life of the school as they progress through The Vyne.
Our current Co-Curricular and Enrichment Programme provides details of the activities available this term, including when and where they take place.
Be curious. Get involved. Try something new. Take the opportunity.
